Day at the Zoo – Why We Do What We Do

Posted by Ryann Malone - May, 02 2017

As an Dallas advertising agency, we love working with clients that make a difference in the community and around the world. We also love clients that engage us as true partners – relying on us for thought leadership, collaborating with us on creative ideas, and including us throughout the process. Being given the freedom to create award-winning work is highly motivating as well (more so than the awards themselves). Working with the Dallas Zoo affords us all of these opportunities and we wanted to post a huge THANK YOU for including us in your recent Grand Opening VIP event for the Simmons Hippos Outpost. What an amazing exhibit!

Since 2006 hippos have been on the list of vulnerable species, and their populations in the wild declined over 20% in the decade leading up to that designation ( The work that the Dallas Zoo does around the world supporting conservation efforts for a variety of at-risk species is inspiring and commendable. Creating such an incredible habitat for Adhama and Boipelo to hopefully breed in captivity is just a small part of that effort, and we were honored to be there to see this exhibit come to life.

This week we are up for the American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Marketer of the Year Award for Best Integrated Campaign B2C for our work with the Dallas Zoo creating their Zoo.Oh! Upgraded 2016 campaign. Whether we win or not (seriously) it is an honor to be named as finalists again after having won last year for our DARTable Gems campaign for our DART client. Even more of an honor is getting to work with clients that allow us to put together cutting-edge integrated campaigns that fully leverage our talents. All clients say they want integrated campaigns, but it is challenging to actually link up your paid, owned and earned media in relevant ways across all communication channels. The Dallas Zoo has become adept at it, and expects nothing less from us as their agency partners.

The picture above summarizes why we do what we do. The wonder and amazement on this little boy’s face at the Dallas Zoo says it all. And seeing Adhama cavort in his new (and very nice) environment was very cool too. Thank you to all of our partners there at the Dallas Zoo, for all that you do!
